CASTILLO DE LA DUQUESA, placed next to the beach and built in the 18th century to protect the immediate area.

CASARES, considered Historica – Artistic Heritage since 1978. It is typical to walk along its narrow and steep hills with unmistakable Arabic style.

Gaucin, is a spectacular mountain village with sweeping views to Gibraltar and the Rif mountains of North Africa.

SAN ROQUE, famous for its relationship with Gibraltar and the British since the time the early British settlers were forced to leave Gibraltar during the times of war but San Roque being close enough and overlooking Gibraltar these settlers could relate visually to their “Rock” and take comfort from its close proximity. An important church stands in San Rogue which attracts many visitors.

MANILVA, just moments into the hills from La Duquesa – housing the beautiful Town Hall, typically Spanish shops – a Bank and bars including fish shops. The town and local region is famous, nationally, for its wonderful grapes, vines and wines that are produced and available locally – truly marvellous and astonishingly good value.

SOTOGRANDE – Port and Village, just next door to La Duquesa – a few minutes drive at the best. All very upmarket and reckoned to be one of the most prestigious developments in all of Spain. Sotogrande has the important International School which enjoys a first class reputation.

BANOS DE LA HEDIONDA, historical area and visit for its beneficial action for the health.

ARCHAEOLOGICAL SITES, as “Cerro del Castillo” excavations Roman Villa in Sabinillas.
